Theory In Motion - First Look

"Design should be environmentally sustainable"

Chris Kennedy and Kelly Remnant are my team mates and our video will be on the above quote. We brainstormed a lot of ideas including a flipbook, wooden film reel and stopmotion block assembling but we settled on the idea of dominoes in a circle falling and picking themselves up, like this video

This can be seen as a representation of the balance that we strike with the environment when we design in a sustainable way and also brings to mind the physical act of felling and planting trees.

We plan to have a hand remove one of the dominoes, disrupting the cycle, and the system stopping showing that when sustainability is not considered it can have a butterfly-effect on the environment.

I have done a quick test with Jenga pieces. They are shaped differently to the wood pieces that Chris has cut though.

I have also made a layout template so we can get the pieces in the same places when we film
