Don’t take media
without question. If you love something you don’t just have to accept it
the way it is. Learn to acknowledge flaws without discounting the whole.
This is a ferocious
love. Your favourite TV show is not in a museum, it is not meant to be
preserved in its original condition. Tear it off its white pedestal. GUT IT. This
is a ferocious love.
Diversify! You
don’t need to cater to the general public. You aren't constricted by networks,
regulations, ratings or even physics. Stop passively accepting media laced with
white-washed, hetero-normative, sexist content and fight back. Change it. Make
it your own.
Do you see yourself represented? The world has infinite variety that the media does not reflect. Change
this.
You love it, so take it. Make it your own.
